Born and raised in Stockton, CA — a city known for its diverse community, especially in the cultures and arts — it was something I’ve always admired and grew up around. Ever since I could remember, I spent a majority of my childhood drawing, performing, or creating things — whether it be bracelets, origami, collages, dance, choir, etc. As a child, I remember trying to copy or replicate any artwork that I thought was cool, so I can show it to my peers and impress them. I loved the compliments I would get so I continued doing them, but eventually it got repetitive and I got bored.
I was never confident in myself to be creative and use my own ideas, but nevertheless, I decided to give it a try to revive my passion for the arts. As I got exposed to multiple mediums and technology, I began experimenting both digitally and traditionally, creating art using my own ideas. I loved implementing my own style onto my art or designs, something unique and never seen before to excite and inspire others to explore themselves and implement that to their art or anything.
At first, I never considered choosing a career in the arts/design because I was more interested in the science field, specifically forensics and chemistry. And even if I did, I did not know what kind to get into that best suited me. However, throughout my whole high school career, I’ve always stuck with all the graphic design and stagecraft courses (although I did do a lot of graphic design work in stagecraft).
Everything about graphic design intrigued me, there are no limits to what I can or cannot do when it comes to creating a design for anything. In addition, there is also so much to learn on the journey of graphic design, which fuels my creativity. I mainly focus on creating more complex or intricate designs, as it resonates with my style and stands out to my audience. As of now, I am exploring other design fields in addition to graphic design, such as UI/UX.

ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm Therese, and I am currently a student at the University of the Pacific. I am studying to get my B.F.A in Graphic Design with a minor in Computer Science! For now, I am looking to study UI/UX design to work on websites or video games.
I was born and raised in Stockton, raised by Vietnamese immigrant parents. I am the oldest and a first-gen child, so my goal is to be the first in my family to graduate with a bachelor's! After that, I plan to work for a while before considering grad school. So far in my undergraduate experience, I am a part of Pacific College Corps, Success TRiO, and Humanities Scholars!
Aside from art and design, one of my other interests is science! During my four years in high school, I would take all of the science classes my school had to offer. I love getting to understand the world around me, doing experiments, and all the challenges it comes with it. As a kid, I've always dreamed of being a forensic scientist or chemist!
On my free time, I like to read once in a while, specifically fantasy fiction books that are inspired by Disney villains. I also like to read horror and dark fantasy manga, play video games, or dress in Ouiji fashion! Fun fact about me, I used to perform traditional Vietnamese dances as a kid for my church festivals, but one of the major places that I got to perform at was the Stockton Cathedral of the Annunciation.
